My Fellow Jains,

Jai Jinendra,

It gives me an immense pleasure to announce the launch of our website,  on the auspicious occasion of Mahavir Jayanti. We have made an attempt to cater to the needs and interests of all groups within the community through this site. Our center is celebrating  its 38th birthday this year and in these years we have achieved many milestones such as: running pathshala, Hindi classes, performing Satsang every Friday, and  performing  Pooja  and Pravachans everyday during Mahaparyushan parv .

As these are the changing times and with these times come new ways of thinking and new approaches to expressing our beliefs.  To learn from our religion is not simply to memorize facts or Mantras, but to apply the very principles that we have been taught from past generations, so that we may pave the way for our children by using innovative ways of teaching and applying the beliefs of Jainism.

Through our website , we will try to provide updates to you on various group activities such as: Jain Pathshala, Hindi Classes, Satsang, Jaina (Jain Association in North America) activities and other  activities for Youth that we are  planning for this summer. We have also added a Jain Calendar  to the website, and also planning to issue an E-newsletter every three months, comprising of religious articles, health articles, quiz, and Jain recipes. Other features of the websites is an  inclusion of a list of Jain Center Members and a yearly financial statement.

I want  to close my address with a quote from Mr. Gerald Ford who once said that: “Coming together is the beginning, Staying together is progress and working together is success.” I want to thank each of you along with my working committee  for showing  your passion, openness and cooperation in all these years. I am confident  that with your continued support, success of our community  will be paramount.
